Dr. Shapiro received his degree in medicine from Rutgers Medical School. His internship in Internal Medicine was completed at Hahnemann University followed by his residency in Dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine where he served as Chief Resident and currently is a volunteer Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. Dr. Shapiro is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and by the American Board of Dermatology as a Micrographic (Mohs) Dermatologic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Mohs Surgery,  American Society for Dermatologic Surgery,  American Society of Dermatology, the Florida Academy of Dermatology,  American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery, International Society of Police Surgeons and the Palm Beach County Medical Society.  Dr. Shapiro has performed multiple FDA studies on devices.  He enjoys clinical studies on the 'repair' of skin conditions including photo rejuvenation and tissue tightening. He shares two patents for topical hair growth sold under the name Shapiro MD.
